Budapest
Built on either side of the river, Budapest is known as the Queen of the Danube. There has been a settlement on this site since the fourth century B.C., and today Budapest is a rich and fascinating mix of ancient history and modern living. Things to do
Wherever our airport transfer may have taken you, there is sure to be loads to do nearby. Budapest has been called the city of spas, and is renowned for its medicinal thermal spas and Turkish baths. Explore the myriad of streets and squares, or the remarkable labyrinth of caves that can be found beneath the city. The castle district of the city is a World Heritage sight, and the whole of Budapest is filled with museums, churches and monuments. Take a stroll through the City Park, or relax on Margaret Island. This huge park is a haven of tranquillity in the middle of the river, and offers a variety of walks and water sports.
Sightseeing
You are sure to see a little of Budapest during your airport transfer, but there is much more to see besides! Take a boat trip down the Danube to be sure not to miss anything, or explore the city by tram. Fishermen’s Bastion offers the most spectacular views of the city. Visit Heroes Square and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, or the neo-gothic parliament building and marvel at the Hungarian Crown jewels. Budapest is full of fine examples of Art Nouveau and Bauhaus architecture, and Statue Park exhibits vast, imposing, Communist-era statues.

As you may see from your airport transfer, Budapest is filled with a diverse range of shops, from street stalls to large shopping malls. There are several speciality porcelain shops, or you can bag a bargain in one of Budapest’s market halls.
Nightlife
You may catch a glimpse of the vast array of nightlife Budapest has to offer during your airport transfer. Budapest is rightly proud of its opera house and classical concerts. The city has plenty of bars, restaurants, and intimate cafes, where you can sample the world famous Hungarian wines. Budapest hosts several festivals throughout the year, or you could try your luck in one of the casinos.

Budapest is home to a wide variety of restaurants, serving cuisine from around the world, so there is sure to be something for everyone. Relaxing over coffee and cakes is a Budapest tradition, and the city is full of cafes and tea rooms.
